Programme description
During cleaning, alongside contamination removal, it's of paramount importance to disinfect surfaces and audit the results. Environmental monitoring procedures utilising metagenomic methods (DNA sequening) can provide information not only about the composition and changes of bacterial microbiomes, but also about risks of biocide and antibiotic resistance appearing at the genetic level. Reducing such risks is one of today's significant challenges, for which the use of UV-C radiation for disinfection proves to be an effective tool, as resistance doesn't develop against this technology. However, proper usage of UV-C disinfection is essential for effectiveness.
Traditionally, food safety and quality management programs are based the concept of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) for controlling of identified hazards of concern. This concept includes the implementation of prerequisite programs as the foundation for food hygiene. An environmental monitoring program (EMP) will help to verify the effectiveness of control measures to manage pathogens. This presentation explains the concept and elements of an EMP for capturing data relative to environmental factors which impact food safety and quality.
In this presentation, Lindie Feuler and Stephan Poppe from WEPA Professional delve into the sustainability of hygiene paper - from its origins to its impact on the planet. Specifically, they focus on paper made from recycled fibers and explore its environmental benefits. They explain the hygiene of recycled fiber products and why hygiene is an underestimated pillar of sustainability.
This presentation highlights the efforts of the World Toilet Organization (WTO) in advancing the global sanitation agenda through its initiatives, with a particular focus on the World Toilet College (WTC). The WTO, established in 2001, is dedicated to breaking the sanitation taboo and ensuring clean and accessible toilets for all.
