Programme description
Why is technological innovation necessary within the cleaning industry? What remains of a people-oriented business when there is a shortage of skilled workers? Which new concepts can thrive in the traditional market? Dr. Henning Hayn (Nexaro) and Annemieke Meijer (Alpheios) discuss the necessary characteristics and the challenges that need to be addressed along the way.
In this presentation Anja de Reus, Vice President Sustainability Europe at Ecolab, will showcase what the company is doing internally but most importantly how, with its customers, it intends to save 1.1bn cubic meters of water by 2030. Practical and detailed examples of daily cleaning will illustrate how adopting smart solutions can help make a great impact on water usage while keeping optimum standards of hygiene that are vital for human health, enabling protection of your business and customers.
The European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group publishes new guidelines on Hygienic Design Risk Management. This document helps stakeholders in the food industry to comply with hygienic design requirements laid down by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) in 2020, which have already found their way into various international standards for the certification of food safety and quality management systems. The presentation covers key aspects of a hygienic design risk management concept and the impact the new GFSI requirements may have.

With sustainability's increasing importance, we're also seeing growing demand for information on products' sustainability aspects. Cleaning products and detergent suppliers can communicate this in the form of green claims. Any statement or claim in this context must be reliable and transparent. In this presentation, the current legislation around claims in the Netherlands and Europe will be explained. In addition, we will also take a look into the future with the upcoming Green Claims Directive and the potential effect on green claims we can find on the (EU) market.
