EDITOR’S NOTE Hello and welcome to our annual Resilient Flooring Focus.

It has been a tough 12 months for the commercial flooring sector as the pandemic put a temporary halt to contract work at the beginning of the first lockdown and restrictions on retail, hospitality and leisure put new fit-outs to the bottom of the list of priorities.

However, as AMA Research discuss in the indepth market report on page 4, the resilient flooring subsector has proven robust in the market despite the significant impact of Covid-19 – falling by just 4% compared to the flooring sector as a whole which saw a 10% decline. This is potentially down to the surging popularity of luxury vinyl tile as design innovations mean that the product is able to more realistically replicate natiural materials while offering a wealth of safety, hygiene and acoustic properties.

In this annual supplement, you’ll find technical advice to help you achieve the best installations everytime, spectacular case studies and design inspiration as well as some of the latest launches from across the flooring industry.

I hope you enjoy the issue.
