LAMETT EUROPE PURCHASES SAWMILL
IN FRANCE Parquet and ParquetVinyl manufacturer and distributor Lamett has recently completed the purchase of a sawmill in Challiou, near Tours, in France.
Bruno Descamps, CEO of Lamett said that the purchase of this sawmill fits into a clear strategy to vertically integrate and have more impact on the whole manufacturing process. He said: “Following the purchase of the largest producer of solid parquet in Europe, Morava Wood, we had to insure ourselves of sufficient raw materials."
In addition to the Morava acquisition, Lamett also made substantial investments in new machines. The purchase of this sawmill includes 20,00m² of buildings and grounds as well as the clientele and machines. The current CEO of Morava Wood, Antoine
POLYPIPE OPENS
TRAINING CENTRE UK manufacturer of underfloor heating systems Polypipe has officially launched a £250,000 training facility to inspire the next generation of budding heating professionals.
The new Doncaster-based facility features specially-designed training spaces to give trainee and experienced plumbing professionals the opportunity to improve their practical skills.
The courses on offer at the Professional Development Centre (PDC) include BPEC- accredited courses on installing warm water underfloor heating, apprenticeship training and guides to domestic ventilation product installation.
The PDC will also now be home to the technical design team and the new underfloor heating senior management team.

We want to further strengthen our position as the market leader for underfloor heating solutions and a key part of that is the level of service and support we offer to our trade customers. Babolat will become CEO of the sawmill where he can rely on a strong general manager for the day-to-day management.
Bruno commented: “We expect to be able to announce a very large
multimillion investment in 2018 or by the beginning of 2019. However, we cannot reveal anything for the moment.”
