EDITOR’S VOICE TCF CONTACTS EDITORIAL

Hello and welcome to the June issue of Tomorrow’s Contract Floors,

Clerkenwell Design Week took place last month and was as vibrant as ever. It was fantastic to see so many of the showrooms and exhibitions brimming with activity. With such a packed schedule of events, talks and workshops it was a difficult but fun challenge to get around and see everything that was on offer.

The main theme running throughout Clerkenwell this year seemed to be sustainability and wellbeing. As architects and designers seek to create healthier spaces, the emphasis is on producing materials that are not only manufactured in an environmentally-friendly way but can also enhance the experience of those who will come into contact with them each day.

Milliken’s sustainable credentials as well as their high design standards were recognised during Clerkenwell Design Week as their floor tile collection Artistic Liberties was awarded the presigious Design Guild Mark. Don’t miss our Spotlight feature to find out more.

In our focus on sustainability we hear from Tarkett on how they work with clients to achieve their sustainability goals with a design philosophy based on the circular economy. Then, the experts at F. Ball talk us through the steps the company is taking towards reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing and reducing plastic waste.

As well as all of this, we also have sections on flooring in the public sector and floor seals & finishes.

I hope you enjoy reading this issue as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
