EDITOR’S VOICE Happy new year and welcome to our first issue of 2020.


I hope you’ve had a wonderful festive period and are looking forward to what lies ahead in the new decade.


January is usually the month when we start to focus on making positive changes to our health, homes and work. So, what better time than to start planning renovations and looking towards enhancing the spaces where we live and work?


To kick-start the 20s we’ve got a great issue with lots of inspiration on how to achieve a fresh approach with flooring. In our Bespoke Flooring feature, we hear from Louisa Eyles of Amtico on how to create unique designs and intricate logos with LVT. We then take a look at a bingo club project where three shades of Altro Ensemble have been used in a herringbone pattern to bring a contemporary scheme together and appeal to all ages.


And, why not banish the winter blues by bringing a bit of colour into design? In our Education section Sarah James of Sika discusses the effects that colour has on student learning and behaviour.
