SPOT THE CHSA STICKER ON DELIVERY

VANS NEAR YOU Companies which have successfully passed the Cleaning & Hygiene Association’s Accreditation Scheme (CHSA) are beginning to display the new Accredited Distributor status stickers on their vans.

Since its launch in January 2017, more than 100 cleaning and hygiene distributors have applied to join the CHSA’s Accreditation Scheme for distributors. The stickers are a way of celebrating their success and commitment to standards.

Mike Stubbs, Chairman of the CHSA’s Accreditation Schemes, said: “Watch out for one of the new Accredited Distributor stickers on a van near you!

TCFM AND REMPLOY: A WINNING

COMBINATION A partnership between TC Facilities Management (TCFM) and Remploy, the disability employment specialists, has won the Large Employer of the Year award at the ERSA Employability Awards 2017.

The winners were announced at a ceremony attended by the Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, Penny Mordaunt MP and hosted by BBC journalist Kirsty Lang.

Now in their fifth year, the ERSA Employability Awards showcase and champion best practice from across the employment support sector, celebrating and recognising the hard work and achievements of those involved in supporting people into work.

Rachel Gardiner, Head of HR for TCFM, commented: “We’re delighted to win the ERSA award for the Large Employer category. This is a huge achievement, especially given the calibre of the nominations for this award. Knowing that we are making a difference to people with a disability or health condition is

hugely satisfying, and to receive a national award recognising this is fantastic! Our partnership with Remploy goes from strength to strength and I look forward to seeing how we will continue to grow together in the future.”

James Kimberley, Remploy National Account Manager, said: “Winning the Large Employer of the Year award is a fantastic accolade for TCFM and adds to the increasing recognition they are getting for their achievements over the last 10 years. They continue to develop and support disabled people into work and have pledged to support many more in the future. It was great to be able to nominate them - even better for them to win!”

This year the awards judges included Heidi Allen MP, a member of the Work and Pensions Committee in the last Parliament; a senior official from the Department for Work and Pensions; a senior researcher at the Resolution Foundation; and last year’s winner of the Adviser of the Year Award, Keith Tottingham.

This isn’t the only success for TCFM and Remploy, as the partnership has also been named as a finalist for the PFM Awards 2017 in the Partners in Charitable and Social Enterprises (CSR) category. The winners of the PFM awards will be announced at a black-tie event in London on 1st November 2017.

“Accredited Distributor status is a sign of the company’s commitment to standards; members guarantee what’s on the box is what’s in the box. We produced the new van stickers to help our Accredited members celebrate and shout about their status. They are now proudly displaying them alongside other marques of quality on their vehicles.”

Gaining admittance to one of the CHSA’s Accreditation Schemes is challenging. Applicants must pass an initial audit, conducted by the CHSA’s Independent Inspector, of their product range and existing quality assurance processes. They are then audited frequently throughout the first year to ensure they maintain the standard that was required of them to gain membership of one of the Schemes.

Thereafter members are visited by the Independent Inspector repeatedly

through each year. The Inspector confirms the labels comply with the relevant Scheme’s specification and selects products at random for testing. This ensures buyers can be confident “what is on the box is in the box” and the product is traceable to a manufacturer and specific batch.
