MLO State of the Industry Disease Management Survey

edical Laboratory Observer’s (MLO) third “State of the Industry” survey topic in 2022 is Disease Management. The majority of clinical laboratory professionals responding (93%) work in hospital labs. The survey fi ndings reveal higher testing volumes at a time when most labs are struggling with staff shortages. For many labs, changes made in diagnos- tic processes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as supplier diversifi cation and increased space for molecular testing, have become a permanent way to cope with continued challenges.

In addition to the survey data, we present in- sights from U.S. clinical lab professionals on the disease management trends they are seeing in their testing facilities.
