Our Wedding Story Stacie & Jonny Hay: From friendship to forever
At the heart of this love story are Stacie Hall, 38, and Jonny Hay, 36 — two people whose journey began not with fireworks, but with friendship.
They first met at Pembroke Dock Cricket Club, becoming the kind of close friends who simply fit. Life took Stacie travelling across Australia for a time, but when she returned home, their friendship quietly turned into something more. That was eleven years ago — and from that moment, they’ve built a life filled with love, laughter, and two beautiful boys.
In July 2024, on Stacie’s birthday, Jonny chose
the most meaningful place he could think of — Bosherston Lily Ponds, her absolute favourite spot — to ask her to marry him. Surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the lily ponds, she said yes.
The couple were married on 25th September 2025
at the stunning Gellifawr Woodland Retreat. True to who they are, they didn’t choose a grand theme or elaborate details. Instead, they focused on what matered most: an intimate ceremony with 30 of their closest family and friends, followed by a big evening celebration filled with love and laughter.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and personal. Stacie
walked down the aisle to “Songbird” by Eva Cassidy, seting a beautifully emotional tone. During the signing of the register, “The Vow” by RuthAnn played, and they exited as husband and wife to “The One I Love” by David Gray — a joyful start to the celebrations.
Stacie looked breathtaking in an ivory lace
gown from Elizabeth Christies in Milford Haven. Incredibly, she chose it within twenty minutes — proof that when you know, you know. The dress featured delicate fluter sleeves and a lace train that made it truly unforgetable. Her white gold crisscross ring, set with diamonds, perfectly complements her engagement ring, while Jonny chose a simple and classic white gold band.
By her side was her maid of honour and best friend, Jude Hossack, along with her sisters Abbie
and Chloe Pethick as bridesmaids, wearing elegant dusky blue floor-length gowns with lace detailing. Jonny’s best man was his lifelong friend Jake Davies. His brothers Mark and Richard Hay served as ushers, alongside Stacie’s brothers Jamie Hall and Joel Pethick, and close friends Josh Taylor and Dai Lloyd. It was a true joining of families and friendships.
Hair styling was by Laurie Williams Hair Salon, and make-up by Stacey Bowen, creating a natural, radiant look for the bride. Flowers by the Sea designed stunning bouquets and arrangements in creams and blues, woven with wild herbs — beautifully complementing the woodland seting and lining the aisle and reception tables.
The entire day took place at Gellifawr Woodland
Retreat, making it relaxed and seamless for guests. Aſter a delicious three-course sit-down meal for the daytime guests, the celebrations expanded to 140 friends and family in the evening, who enjoyed a pulled meat buffet and a lively party atmosphere.
Their first dance had a wonderfully personal twist.
Jonny insisted on Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” — the song playing on a jukebox when he first noticed Stacie years ago. While the original felt a litle too upbeat for a first dance, Stacie found a beautiful acoustic version, and together they shared a moment that perfectly reflected their story.
Their photographer, Beverly Thomas Photography,
was someone they had admired for years through friends’ weddings, always saying she would photograph their own one day. She didn’t disappoint — capturing every smile, tear, and joyful embrace.
Their two-tier wedding cake, created by WhatMaisyBaked, was as stunning as it was delicious: a vanilla and white chocolate botom tier with navy blue icing, and a blueberry and raspberry top tier with white chocolate icing in dusky blue — a perfect nod to their colour palete.
Stacie celebrated her hen weekend in Bath with her closest girls, while Jonny headed to Bristol for a lively stag weekend with his mates. As for a honeymoon, with two young boys at home, they’re waiting for the right time — though they’re dreaming of one day escaping to the Maldives.
When asked about their favourite moment of the
day, their answer was simple: once the formalities were over and they could truly relax, soaking in the joy of being surrounded by everyone they love.
Their advice to other brides-to-be? Embrace the planning, stay calm, and remember that perfection isn’t what makes the day special. What maters most
are the people around you and the memories you create together.
From friendship to forever, Stacie and Jonny’s
wedding was a celebration not just of a marriage, but of a love that grew naturally, patiently, and beautifully over time.
