GASTECH EVENT IS SET FOR SUCCESS
Featuring an impressive number of speakers and exhibitors this year’s Gastech Exhibition & Conference is shaping up to be one of the most popular yet. Taking place in Milan, Italy from 5-8 September, the event is one of the largest exhibitions of its kind supporting the gas, LNG, hydrogen and energy industry. Gastech 2022 Milan will
provide space for 750 exhibitors to showcase the value that they can bring to the industry. Outdoor exhibition space will be available for the demonstration of lower-carbon technologies and mobility solutions. And, with 20 international pavilions, the show fl oor will have a truly international appeal supporting an integrated world-class business environment.
Tiny EX-certifi ed sensors save millions
A semi-submersible drilling rig
equipped with tiny wireless IoT sensors signifi cantly reduced the number of inspections and maintenance with their fi rst use case. Disruptive Technologies (DT) together with Norwegian partner Ex-Tech Group, have deployed an Internet of Things (IoT) sensor solution that is delivering signifi cant cost and maintenance savings for COSL, one of the most innovative oil production rig companies in Europe. In April 2022, The COSL Innovator was equipped with sensors whilst undergoing regular maintenance near Bergen, Norway. Ex-tech Group and
New well monitoring technology
Hiber, the satellite-enabled IoT scale- up, is rolling out its HiberHilo remote well monitoring technology in the USA to help oil and gas producers monitor their remote wells via satellite connectivity. The
technology unlocks signifi cant improvement in the production, downtime reduction, safety, and sustainability of oil and gas wells. HiberHilo connects sensors
on wellheads via a wireless, solar- powered gateway to satellites, and then on to an API or secure online dashboard. Multiple wellheads with

sensors can be connected to the same gateway within a fi ve-mile radius. The sensors relay readings regularly to give a 24/7 view of the status of any well, so issues such as production downtime or leaks are immediately identifi ed and quickly rectifi ed. With
remote wells notoriously diffi cult to monitor and most
encountering integrity issues or production issues at some point in their life, HiberHilo makes monitoring these remote assets in the least- connected parts of the world safer, cheaper, and easier.
COSL installed 400 sensors to remotely monitor temperature and humidity in the production rigs. For this fi rst phase of the project, humidity sensors were installed in the junction boxes and fl oodlights that were physically the hardest to reach. The data from these sensors is
integrated into the Inspectio system, which COSL uses for all inspections and operations. Notifi cations are sent to the onshore operators who then plan and optimise their schedules.
DIGITAL TWIN GROWTH
After a successful delivery of Kongsberg Digitals digital twin solution Kognitwin on two assets, one of the world’s largest energy corporations is now expanding its contract, adding four more assets. “We are very pleased with the expansion of our contract with this energy major. The expansion demonstrates the power and potential of Kognitwin to transform the oil and gas sector. In the race towards NetZero, our digital twin will be an important contributor,” says Hege Skryseth, president.
