Electric Mine is back for its third event in the series in 2023. Following another stellar
mine electrification event in Stockholm, Sweden, in February 2022, The Electric Mine 2023 will run over three full days in Tucson, Arizona, on May 23-25. With the major mining companies across the globe having all signed up to interim and final emissions targets, which require surface and underground equipment fleets to ultimately move away from diesel, there is still an interim step
dynamic to consider – one that must leverage zero-emission stationary power inputs as well as the componentry and services needed to support electric solutions above and below ground. All these topics and more
required. This could see a faster adoption of hybrid solutions, trolley assist and alternative fuels. Longer term, a number of future mining fleet deals have been signed between equipment OEMs and miners focusing on hydrogen fuel cell and battery- electric solutions.
