24 Water/Wastewater Reliable Data logging of Water Level and Temperature Measurements
Solinst Canada Ltd. is pleased to announce the latest release in their Levelogger Series - the all-new Model 3001 Levelogger Edge. The Levelogger Edge is an absolute, precision instrument that provides reliable datalogging of water level and temperature measurements.
The Levelogger Edge consists of a pressure sensor, temperature thermistor, datalogger and 10-year lithium battery in a factory-sealed 7/8" x 6.25" (22 mm x 159 mm) housing, with a Titanium based PVD coating for protection in corrosive or marine environments. The internal FRAM memory can hold up to 120,000 water level and temperature data points, using a new linear sampling mode compression algorithm.
Its enhanced features over previous Levelogger versions include a new Hastelloy pressure sensor, which performs in high stress environments giving improved temperature compensation and faster response time, and provides an overall accuracy of 0.05% FS with 24 bit resolution. The Hastelloy sensor can withstand 2 times over-pressure without permanent damage.
To accompany the Levelogger Edge, Solinst is releasing a high speed Optical Reader and Levelogger Software Version 4.0, which is written to support the new Levelogger Edge,
Levelogger Junior, LTC Levelogger Junior, Rainlogger, Leveloader and is backwards compatible to support the Levelogger Gold series. Version 4.0 offers many new features, including the ability to barometrically compensate multiple Levelogger data files simultaneously. Also released, the new, more precise Barologger Edge provides the easiest and most accurate method of obtaining barometric data.
The Solinst Levelogger Edge provides consultants, researchers and water professionals a compact method of recording data in remote locations without requiring ongoing maintenance. Trouble-free optical infrared communication makes installation easy, using the new 2" Locking Well Caps for wireline or Direct Read Cable deployment. The Levelogger Edge can also communicate with SDI-12 Systems using a special interface cable, as well as Solinst Telemetry Systems.

In refineries, storage facilities and airports, hydrocarbons are stored in tanks. Most of them are equipped with a retaining pool which can fill up with rain water.
A detector is usually installed at the lowest point of this retaining pool to detect any pollutants, just before discharge.
For over 20 years, Néréïdes (France) has supplied solutions to detect leakage in the retaining pools, surrounding the storage tanks to retain the oil in case of overflow, leakage or mishandling.
Simple, robust and selective; the Oilspy detector can easily be linked to fire or gas detection systems. Néréïdes offers many accessories and can customise them to fit the customer’s application.
In the event of a hydrocarbon-related leak, it will trigger an alarm to ensure rapid intervention, thus avoiding disaster and high cleaning costs.

The new optical system design ensures measurement accuracy, repeatability and stability. The drift-free sensor guarantees reliable data over extended
periods of time, without the need for routine maintenance. Using the full UV-VIS spectral wave length range from 200 to 720 nm provides the best measurement results and optimum compensation of interferences like turbidity.
The integrated, advanced ultrasonic cleaning system reduces manual window cleaning to an absolute minimum. High performance materials including Titanium and PEEK are used to withstand harsh conditions for extreme durability over the entire sensor lifespan.
