ENJOYING LIFE AT BROCKINGTON CARE COMMUNITY August is here and life at Brockington House Nursing home is in full swing!

We are thrilled to have welcomed visitors back in to our home and it’s been really lovely seeing families enjoy time with their loved ones after such a long break. We are finally able to welcome back the local churches, musical entertainers and pet therapists, all important people involved in the lives of our ladies and gentlemen.
We appreciate how difficult this period has been but we have continued to give love and support to all our ladies and gentlemen. Regular zoom calls have kept everyone in touch and we have shared our many activities on social media which we hope you have enjoyed following. We would also like to thank everyone locally who has supported us with endless cards, letters and gifts – hugely appreciated.
The last few weeks we have been busy working on our garden, planting seeds and plants whilst prepping the beds so they are full of colour as the warmer weather comes. It’s been so nice to enjoy time outside in the sunshine and we regularly take a breather with tea and cake on the patio!
Our ladies and gentlemen have enjoyed various art projects, learning to paint and be creative with different mediums, had such fun on our virtual trips abroad, attended book clubs and live streamed concerts in our cinema and learnt some new skills like photography! For those who prefer the quieter life, our library is well stocked and our garden has lots of safe pathways to explore, not forgetting our coffee shop and bar for delicious cakes, snacks and drinks!
We are extremely lucky to have our fitness centre and have been spending time in the gym with our visiting personal trainer and keeping ourselves active. We have also enjoyed daily exercise classes, weekly ballet lessons and seated Tai Chi!
We want to offer the reassurance that we continue to provide a safe and supportive environment to all who live with us, remaining positive, having fun and we cannot wait to start getting back out into the community again.
