Dear Hatters,


As we look back on this difficult year, we want to extend a hand of warmth and understanding from all the staff here at Strachan Corner Dental. We know it has been very tough for many people, in many different ways. Some have lost their jobs, some their ability to work, some their ability to focus, and some their own family members to sickness or to suicide. Many questions play in people’s minds… How has this year affected us, overall? Are we better as people? Have our experiences brought us closer together as a community, or caused us to drift further apart? Are we unified? Divided? How is our health? Our mental health? How is our friendliness, something which we took for granted only one short year ago? How about our compassion, our kindness to one another?


We have witnessed gradual changes in patients’ interactions and their ability to move forward in the face of prolonged uncertainty. It seems as though around every bend, people gradually walk closer to weariness, listlessness, depression, and confusion. Our hearts reach out to those who find it more and more difficult to put one foot in front of the other and find joy in their daily lives.


We continue to try to create an atmosphere of caring, warmth, and laughter, especially since we as human beings need so much to laugh. Dr. McKenna and his staff endeavor to be smile spreaders and to maintain a welcoming environment in the midst of so many changes.


As a city, let’s continue to make a concerted effort to keep our friendliness, our compassion, and our courage, and to lend a listening ear to neighbors who may be struggling to cope. Let’s unify our divisions and let’s come together in spite of our distances. We still have our humanity. We still have each other. We still have great hope for a much brighter tomorrow.
