Hiretech Investment Adds Nitrogen Pumps To Rental Offering
Hiretech Limited is further expanding its rental fleet offering with the addition of two 180k Zone 2 nitrogen pumping units as part of a £1million CAPEX investment planned for 2021.
The pumps are currently being refurbished in the company’s workshop and are scheduled for completion late April 2021.
The addition comes as the company responds to increasing supply requests from its existing client base.
Andy Buchan, CEO at Hiretech, commented, “We have been encouraged by our clients for as long as I can remember to get in to the nitrogen business, and now feels like the right time for us to take this forward. The skills sets and client base we have make this a great addition to our business.”
The nitrogen pumps will augment Hiretech’s existing range of pumps, hydraulic power packs, winches and powered umbilical reels which are utilised across various
hydraulics, well service, pipeline, chemical cleaning, decommissioning, subsea and renewables client projects.
This latest investment comes as Hiretech continues to diversify and expand its rental equipment offering, and is in addition to two six-figure investments made in 2020, when subsea shears and air winches were added to the company’s growing rental fleet.
MENCK to Provide Hydraulic Hammers to
DolWin6 Offshore Converter Platform MENCK, the lead brand for the foundations and cables business segment within marine energy and infrastructure services company Acteon, has signed a contract with Swiss offshore specialist Allseas to deliver piledriving and handling equipment for the installation of TenneT’s DolWin6 offshore converter platform in the German North Sea.
MENCK will provide its submersible MHU 3500S hydraulic hammer, which is capable of driving monopiles and smaller sized piles by delivering 3500-kJ impact energy. It will also supply a back-up MHU 1900S hammer and follower. The MENCK noise reduction unit is an integral part of the MHU hammers and will be used during operation for active reduction of the underwater noise generated during pile installation.
Completion of the DolWin6 project is scheduled for 2023. Like the previous projects, DolWin3 and BorWin3, it is a direct-current connection between offshore wind farms and mainland Germany with a 900-MW transmission capacity and is part of the German government’s commitment to increase the country’s renewable energy supply.
