Retail
Goodwill has supported the South Australian community for more than 60 years, selling high quality, new and pre-loved items at great prices.
Goodwill relies on the support of volunteers and offers a number of options to suit you. If you enjoy working with people, you may like to lend a hand on the sales floor, or perhaps you’d prefer to help with sorting donations? You can even choose to get out and about in the community and assist with collections.
Supporting diverse communities
Uniting Communities is committed to supporting inclusivity. We have dedicated programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the LGBTIQA+ community and people new to Australia.
You may choose to provide administrative assistance at our dedicated programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, peer-to-peer mentoring to someone in the LGBTIQA+ community, or maybe consider helping out at our information sessions for refugees and new migrants.
Disability services
If you have experience working with people with disability or complex needs, there are people in our community who need your support.
Volunteers with experience in law, disability, community services and/or speech therapy can support vulnerable people to communicate in police interviews and court proceedings – allowing them to fully participate and give the most accurate account of their evidence.

Many people, at some point, will experience a challenging situation or crisis in their lives. At these times, it can help to have someone to speak with who can listen, understand and offer support.
If you’re interested in making a real difference to the lives of people who are in crisis, why not become a volunteer Crisis Supporter? Our dedicated volunteers work to ensure that Lifeline Adelaide phones are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You will undergo specialist training to develop the skills required to best support people in crisis.
