Older people
Our volunteers support older people in the wider community and within our aged care residences at Felixstow and Glenelg.
You may like to spend time with an older person, provide transport to appointments and activities, assist with our lifestyle programs, or perhaps support us behind the scenes.
We are always looking for people to connect with older people in the community, either over the phone or in person – or even with your dog.
Families & young people
We provide a number of opportunities to support families and young people to overcome challenges, improve life skills and build meaningful connections.
You may choose to volunteer with your children and mentor another family seeking some support. If you are interested in the mental health and wellbeing of young people, you could provide peer-to-peer support, assist with our youth program, or even contribute your ideas as part of our youth reference group.
Financial & legal services
We provide specialised services to support vulnerable people seeking legal information and advice, advocacy, or help to better manage their finances.
You may like to volunteer individually or within a team to provide information, budgeting advice and referrals to financial assistance programs. Perhaps you’d rather become a volunteer mediator, helping to resolve disputes at an early stage, or provide administrative support.
Emergency support &
community development We often work with people who are experiencing disadvantage and poverty, or looking to make connections to the community.
You may be able to contribute by offering tutoring to help migrants develop their English language skills and literacy in a friendly and welcoming environment – this can be one-to-one or in a group.
Why not try your hand behind a coffee machine at our ‘donate what you can’ café for refugees and other vulnerable people? We’re always looking for volunteers to help behind the scenes in the kitchen and front of house.
