Destec Invests in New Equipment, Machinery and Infrastructure

Destec Engineering have recently announced a multi-million-pound investment at their premises located outside of Lincoln in the East Midlands. The investment comprises of an extension to the existing factory encompassing further extension work to the main office building. Destec are also investing well over £1m on new equipment and machinery to uphold their position as leaders within the industry.

Destec are experts in High Pressure Containment and have been supplying Products and Services, into the Energy Sector for over 50 years serving the Oil, Gas and Power Industries throughout the world. Destec are an original equipment manufacturer of piping connectors, designed for the most hostile environments.

In addition to Seal Rings and G-Range clamp connectors they produce a range of Flanges and Single Bolt connectors designed for ‘remote’ subsea applications – see the enclosed images for examples.

Unlike many competitor manufacturers they also have an on-site service division which means they can come to the client and re-machine products in-situ, if better suited, rather than sending back to the UK factory. This is a back-up service much appreciated by their diverse range of clients.

Ben Vincent, Global Sales and Marketing Manager said; “We are pleased to announce our expansion works are almost complete. It has long been recognised that we have needed to expand our factory and workshops to meet the ongoing needs of our customers.”

“There is an extra 200m² of floor space being added to the existing facility. This is the 4th such expansion to the factory since 2003 and will allow the addition of new equipment into the business.”

“The final phase of the project is nearing completion and we have invested in more state of the art CNC machinery which is due for arrival in the coming weeks. These are exciting developments, and we are looking forward to improving our production capability and lead times for customers.”

“It also shows, during these difficult times, real intent from the company owners.”

“We are pleased that business activity is starting to return to pre-covid levels, but we appreciate that we are still operating

in very uncertain times. This latest project will further enhance our service to customers and put us in a stronger position in what is sure to be a more competitive market.”

In addition to the factory expansion this year, Destec have also, for the first time, appointed an African based Distributor to promote its products and services. “It was important to enhance our presence in the region, which wasn’t being served adequately without local representation. The appointment of a representative that covers both Nigeria and Ghana we believe will establish Destec in this part of West Africa.”

Destec currently have distributors serving 16 countries around the globe and are looking at expanding their Distribution network to other strategic locations in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
