NAME: Jonathan Buckle COMPANY: Fiscale (Silverstone) Ltd JOB TITLE: Director
WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND? I’ve spent most of my time since leaving university in 2004 as a business consultant, in the brewery industry, woodworking industry, financial services and not forgetting part-time tennis coach.
WHAT DOES YOUR COMPANY DO? We help clients to unlock the often ‘hidden’ value within their businesses, in the form of R&D Tax Credits.
HOW DID IT ALL START? Having worked as a manufacturing and asset finance consultant for the best part of a decade, I was looking for a new challenge. I met Stephen Bunting (CEO of Fiscale Ltd) at an Expo and ended up discussing a partner role within the business. Many drinks (cups of tea in this instance) later and I realised that my background was perfectly suited.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST RISK YOU’VE EVER TAKEN – AND DID IT WORK OUT? Leaving a safe job, with all the associated benefits within the corporate world, yet having the responsibilities of a dad and husband, to start Fiscale Silverstone Ltd. So far, so good…
WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU MOST IN YOUR JOB? Just how broad the scope is for R&D Tax Credits, they literally apply to every sector!
WHICH BUSINESS PERSON OR COMPANY DO YOU MOST ADMIRE, AND WHY? Richard Branson, as I read his book Screw It, Let’s Do It not long after leaving university and it inspired me to dream big.
WHAT EXCITING PROJECTS IS YOUR BUSINESS WORKING ON OR OFFERING AT THE MOMENT? There’s no doubt that it’s a challenging economic climate right now. We are currently offering new clients a full R&D review, at no cost.
WHAT MADE YOU JOIN MILTON KEYNES CHAMBER AND/OR HOW ARE YOU MAKING USE OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP? Trust is imperative in financial services and joining the Chamber is a stamp of business approval and credibility.
