Participate in National ASC Week ASCs across the country will host National ASC week August 8–12. Recognized as “National ASC Day” every year since 2003, this event offers ASCs an opportunity to invite policy makers, the media and the people who live and work in their communities into their facilities and educate them about the quality care and services that ASCs provide. In the past, in recognition of
National ASC Day, ASCs have con- ducted a broad range of activities, including health fairs, facility tours

local
district office to set up a tour. This minimal investment of your time can help secure the future of your ASC

Download ASCA’s HIPAA Workbook for ASCs Earlier this year, ASCA released a valu- able new resource for ASC managers: the HIPAA Workbook for ASCs. This detailed workbook is designed
specifically for use within the ASC setting and provides ASC staff with comprehensive tools and essential information to help them comply with the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). An in-depth review of the HIPAA requirements and easy-to-use and cus- tomizable forms and worksheets make this new workbook a useful tool for designing, evaluating and strengthen- ing any ASC’s compliance program. Download a copy of the HIPAA
Workbook for ASCs at www.
ascassociation.org/HIPAA and make sure your facility has access to the best practices in ASC HIPAA compliance. This resource is available for free to facility and corporate members of ASCA.
