ASCA NEWS

‘What Is an ASC?’ Video Now Available

ASCA has released a brief video that explains ASCs in clear and concise terms. The video has been posted on the “What Is an ASC?” page of ASCA’s Advancing Surgical Care web site (www.advancingsurgicalcare.org) and on ASCA’s YouTube channel (www. youtube.com/TheASCAssociation). ASCA encourages members of the ASC community to share the video with their audiences by directing them to the “What Is an ASC?” page or by adding the video to their own web site. To embed the video on your web site,

go to ASCA’s YouTube channel, select the “Share” button, and copy and paste the “embed” text onto the page where you would like to display the video. For a $500 production fee, ASCA can customize the end of the video for its member ASCs with contact infor- mation for their center. If you are

interested in customizing the video for your center, contact Jesse Chimes at jchimes@ascassociation.org.

Make the Most of ASCA 2016 with ASCA Connect If you are attending ASCA 2016 later this month, you have automatically been subscribed to the ASCA 2016 online community on ASCA Connect. This is a great place to begin discussions with fellow attendees that you can continue in Dallas. Also, you can use this commu- nity to ask speakers about their presenta- tions or find a friend to share a ride. By the meeting dates, the ASCA 2016 community will have a library of helpful resources for attendees, includ- ing session handouts and a preliminary attendee list. Visit the community at www. ascaconnect.org and log in by enter- ing your email address and password. If this is your first time logging in, your

initial password is your last name, case sensitive. If you receive an error mes- sage or need assistance, please email support@ascassociation.org.

Represent ASCs on Capitol Hill Attend ASCA’s 2016 Capitol Fly-In Program and tell your ASC’s story of patient-centered care directly to mem- bers of Congress next month. ASC advocates will

visit Capitol Hill in

Washington, DC, June 13–14 to cham- pion the ASC message of high-quality, cost-efficient care, and you can play a part in these critically important visits. After receiving training from indus-

try experts on the legislative process and issues affecting ASCs, fly-in attendees will spend a day on Capitol Hill meet- ing with legislators and their staff to help educate them on the services, sav- ings and quality care that ASCs provide. Since 2014, more than 250 repre-

sentatives from the ASC community have participated in the Capitol Fly-In Program, and more than 100 members of congress have cosponsored impor- tant ASC legislations. Visit ASCA’s 2016 Capitol Fly-In web page at www. ascassociation.org/2016capitolflyin to find out how you can join your peers in advocating for the ASC community on Capitol Hill.
