Technology trends

All AV distribution and pro- cessing applications

that de-

mand zero-latency, uncompro- mised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which pro- vides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV ex- tension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control

APIs and interopera-

bility. SDVoE network architec- tures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches thus offering substantial

cost savings and

greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional ap- proaches such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.

Crestron involvement

Crestron unveiled the latest enhancements to its indus- try-leading DM NVX AV-over- IP platform. With support for AES67, DM NVX endpoints can send breakaway audio from a video source to mixers, DSPs, and amplifiers, as well as receive signals from mix- ers, DSPs, and microphones that support the AES67 stan- dard. New ultra-fast, no-glitch switching delivers virtually im- perceptible switching from one network stream to another. “We have a steadfast commit-

ment to continuously evolving the DM NVX platform to be the best in every way,” said Josh Stene, VP of Marketing at Cre- stron. “Last year, we brought exclusive Pixel Perfect Process- ing technology to DM NVX to deliver image quality as good as the source, and over a standard 1 gigabit network – no need for all the expense and disruption of installing a new 10 gigabit network. This year, we’ve taken audio support and switching speed to an entirely new level. Even better news, these capa- bilities

will be implemented

across the entire product line.” SDVoE for Crestron

The SDVoE Alliance announced at ISE 2020 the availability of an SDVoE module for Crestron control systems. This module makes it easy for system de- signers and integrators to de- ploy SDVoE systems of any size while providing a familiar user experience with Crestron con- trol systems and interfaces. The SDVoE module works with any 3-series Crestron con- trol processor to enable video matrix switching and indepen- dent audio routing, as well as advanced SDVoE features like video wall and MultiView. Har- nessing the power of the SDVoE API, this single driver works with any SDVoE manufacturer’s products. The SDVoE module is available for free download from the SDVoE Academy by SDVoE Alliance members and certified SDVoE Design Part- ners.

“Most SDVoE systems are de- ployed without a Crestron con- trol interface and many of our members have their own great control platforms, but this new functionality for the SDVoE ecosystem makes it much sim- pler to mix Crestron’s popular control platform with the best

video distribution platform,” said Justin Kennington, pres- ident of the SDVoE Alliance. “Systems designers and in-

tegrators can easily offer end users a familiar experience and give them peace of mind that they can benefit from all the

quality, flexibility, scalabili- ty and interoperability SDVoE technology has to offer, without the need for re-training.”
