REMEMBRANCE T OURISM GUIDE 2020

France has commemorated two major wartime anniversaries recently. Last year saw the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings on Normandy’s beaches, while 2018 marked the centenary of the Armistice following the Great War. In 2020, there are anniversaries being marked too – though these are much more low-key. The life of major military fi gure Charles de Gaulle is being celebrated (three times over), while it’s 75 years since Victory in Europe. Here’s our guide to the best commemorative spots, cemeteries, memorials and museums to visit this summer.
