Notre Dame de Lorette Memorial
The largest French military cemetery in the world, containing the remains of more than 40,000 French soldiers, with a beautiful basilica and memorial buildings. Musée de l’Armistice This museum in the Compiègne Forest in Picardy is built on the site where the Germans signed the Armistice that came into effect at 11am on November 11, 1918. The signing took place in a forest clearing in a wagon-lit train carriage that was destroyed after the war. However, visitors can explore an identical model, the 2439D, to experience the place’s historic magnitude.

Mémorial des Batailles de la Marne
Standing on the top of a hill in the grounds of Château de Dormans, this is the principal monument to the soldiers who were killed in the two Battles of the Marne. Erected in 1919, with a 52-metre steeple and a long staircase leading to its entrance, the chapel has unrivalled views over the Marne valley.

The Clearing of the Armistice of Rethondes, One of the worlds most renowned memorials, Dedicated to all those who died in both World Wars.
The Museum houses an identical wagon to the one where the Armistices of 1918 and 1940 were signed. You will discover intricate views from the
First World War, weapons, uniforms and an important collection of genuine handicrafts from the trench.
In 2018, an extension of the museum saw the opening of a 3D video room
allowing you to immerse yourself in the very striking, everyday life of a soldier and his wife. Through various showrooms, take time to follow an historical tour from the Armistice’s of 1918 to 1940.
The Augustin Trebuchet Garden not only remembers the victims of the Great War but all who have died for their homeland from 1870 to the present day.
