Bad Words


There are two bad words that probably send shivers down your spine: environmental remediation. Since responsibili- ty for ground or water contam- ination can be applied retroac- tively, it is a justifi ed reaction. Provincial governments have made a greater effort in recent years to not only cite, but pros- ecute offenders, levy fi nes and even impose jail sentences.


In this issue, we have a number of articles that face the sub- ject head-on – dealing with risk, environmental updates and making use of an environ- mental lawyer, should you need one.
