March brings madness of the nicest possible kind – St Patrick's Day! As a former Irish Dancer, winner of three World Champion Irish Dance Drama titles and having had my own TV show on Irish TV, you can imagine how important this day has been to me over the years. In my youth I spent the 17th March traipsing from one event to the next with fellow dancers putting on shows; after hanging up my shoes (do you ever really hang up your shoes as an Irish dancer?) it became a night of frivolity and still showing off my talents impromptu style, usually after a tipple or two.

More madness comes in the form of the Cheltenham Festival as a huge Irish contingent descend upon Cheltenham bringing with them that incredible sense of fun, stamina and big wallets that they are so famous for! Restaurants are rammed, hotels bulging at the seams and shop owners delighted to welcome the racegoers who are always in great spirits! It doesn't stop there, as a day dedicated to the most important woman in our lives, Mother's Day, rounds off the month nicely and with a rather more sedate mood.

March is also important for new season fashion and this season you can take your pick from some easy to wear trends. From pastels to polka dots, black and white monochrome to tailored suits – it might all sound familiar, but then that's fashion, everything comes around again – but with a fresh twist! From Susanna our columnist and celebrity event planner to our foodie writers, there's musings that entertain and inspire this month, unlike those Oscar speeches that were so incredibly dull! Gosh I miss those days of holding the chest and thanking distant relatives who may have contributed to them just 'being' in some way.

Enjoy reading this issue and all the March madness...
