To the February issue of LifeIn magazine. At the time of writing with Storm Brendan raging all around us, thoughts might not be turning to spring but instead we can think of the month of love instead. Why not make a date to visit the Greenhouse Coffee Shop and Restaurant which specialises in using local produce and will be offering romantic candlelite dinners for Valentine’s Day.


Valentine’s can however be a lonely day for some so why not look at some of the traditions from around the world which also celebrate friendship? Turn to page 22 to find out more.


No one can not have been moved by the enormous toll being taken on Australian wildlife with the continuing bushfire situation, but our own wildlife can also suffer from road accidents, predation and human activities. Many of these casualties end up with our local vets and on page 10 Lisa Walters of Chapel Vets starts the first in a two part series ‘Living on the Wild Side’.


Our walk this month takes us to the outskirts of Devizes and takes in Etchilhampton Hill and some wonderful views. There are no stiles or gates and in fact you could choose to start at a variety of points, even after all the rain that we have had it wasn’t too muddy though you would still want to wear boots!
