Last month The White Hart celebrated entering its 11th year of business and smashing a 10 year target of raising over £50, 000 for local causes and charities.


T


he White Hart in the village of Atworth on the outskirts of Melksham is a family run


traditional village pub. Priding themselves on classic homecooked food, cask marque ales and being


family and dog friendly. The décor is traditional with cosy corners and a log burner but with a slight bit of quirkiness.


On entering you will be greeted by a smiling and friendly team and a welcoming atmosphere is felt throughout.


On the menu you will find classic pub dishes, and a constantly changing specials board including fresh Fish. For a pub their vegan range is large with starters, mains and puddings all being available. Weekly deals such as kids eat free on a Sunday, curry and a drink for £10 every Monday, and a steak deal midweek, everything is covered even down to a biscuit treat for your dog.


Alongside the pub a skittle alley is available to hire and 2020 sees a community bowls court being added to the premises.


2019 show cased Kirsty and Nathan with winning Melksham Person’s of the Year, coming 7th out of 336 pubs in the Rover Dog Friendly Awards for the South West and coming 2nd for The Pub of the year in Wiltshire.


On speaking with Nathan and Kirsty, they say that the last 10 years have been amazing and have kept to one rule, being a traditional village pub, nothing more nothing less hosting live bands, tributes and charity events alongside great home cooked food and drink. On reaching their 10 year milestone it seems they have a lot more to give and say to watch this space.
