adults served together at West Park to complete a pollinator bed project.

Church members treated families at the Sixth Street Shelter to a fall party, playing games, sharing stories, doing crafts, and decorating pumpkins.

As the YMCA prepared to open the Warming Station for the 2019-2020 season, the staff gladly welcomed folks from our church who came together to organize the donation closet and prepare beds.

During Service Days, we come together as families, friends, small groups, or maybe strangers, but as we serve together, we get to know one another, make a few new friends, and help others all at the same time.

Te next Service Day will be on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Please mark this date on your calendar and plan to come together to serve together.

FPCA DONATES SHOES TO DAYBREAK RESIDENTS

On December 4, First Presbyterian brought 70 people from Daybreak Drop-In Center to Boscov’s at the Lehigh Valley Mall to purchase shoes. FPCA’s Local Mission Team has been doing this for several years, typically bringing about 50 people. The church gave each person a $40 gift card toward purchasing footwear of their choice.

“Boscov’s looks forward to this shopping event each year, as we really pride ourselves on community involvement,” says Jessica Blasco, the company’s regional manager of public relations and special events. Boscov’s donated 200 pairs of Heat Holder socks to ensure Daybreak participants’ feet stay warm and dry this winter.

Service Day mission workers participated in a variety of activities, including (at left) making lunch for Ripple Community Building Center, (above left) filling goodie bags for the next Honduras medical mission, and (above right) stuffing information folders for Diakon Adoption and Foster Care.
