Hello and welcome

to the January issue of Venue Insight Magazine, the MUST HAVE publication for the UK hospitality industry.

I’d like to start by wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

There is always so much optimism at the turn of the year and with many hospitality providers reporting record festive figures we can look forward to 2020 with a smile. We’ve done our best to pack as much helpful content into this issue to help you kick-start your year and keep customers happy as we head towards the green shoots of spring.

PUB20, the UK’s only dedicated trade show for the pub industry, is back for a sixth year in February 2020. The free-to- attend show will welcome thousands of pub operators and owners, offering the chance to learn from industry experts, share ideas, meet suppliers, discover the latest industry trends and do some all-important networking with their peers (at the bar of course!).

Washrooms and toilets are often the first and frequently the last place customer’s

visit at a venue so making a great first impression is absolutely crucial. Bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels, high traffic stadiums and frankly anywhere that has public toilet facilities all have a duty to enhance the washroom experience for visitors. We talk all things hygiene with P-Wave® Sales and Marketing Manager, Mark Wintle and discover why their new Slant6 urinal screen is an absolute must.

With a new year comes predictions and forecasts. We have some great insight on the year ahead for hospitality technology from Peter Moore, CEO of digital commerce business Lolly. Night-time sector predictions are put forward by Ollie Calvert, Head of Brand & Marketing at insurance specialists NDML.

Dry January or Dry Ginuary? If you’re not ready to go the whole hog and abstain from the booze altogether then Brockmans, the gin ‘like no other’ have the perfect answer with their Clove Actually serve.

Fingers crossed for a solid start to 2020.
