In a good month for shares generally, Oxford Instruments took top honours among the large and medium-sized quoted companies in the Thames Valley with a 23% hike in its share price in November.
The group, a leading provider of high-technology products, systems and tools to the world’s leading industrial companies and scientific research communities, launched the latest release of its Imaris product which enables users to calculate distance measurements quicker and easier than before.
“Now the image can tell its own story, allowing the scientist to spend more time discussing what the results mean, rather than what the results are,” said the company.
As usual, the biggest rise was among the smallest quoted companies, where Immedia Group – the Newbury-based company founded by top disc jockey Bruno Brookes – saw shares rise 43%.
The supplier of multi-media content and digital audience engagement solutions recorded a loss in its half-year results to last June, but said its new business pipeline was positive and activity in its core strategic areas remained positive.
Another big winner was Windsor-based Morgan Advanced, which aims to use advanced materials to help make more efficient use of the world’s resources.
