The Ferguson Club report fom The Newark Vintage Tractor and Heritage Show

With the help of the officials the extent of our stand was confirmed and with his expert eye John Sharpe planned the layout of the stand. Everyone was very keen and all our exhibits were in place before dark set in, two of which came from Cumnock in Ayrshire.

The exhibits were: Massey Harris No 51 Wooden Horse Plough-1920; Ferguson TEA 20 – 1947 with a Ferguson Sack Liſter attached; Pink Ferguson TED 20-1950--used for Lincolnshire Ladies Tractor Road Run to Raise Money for Cancer Research; Massey Ferguson 135-1965; Massey Ferguson 135-1969; Massey Ferguson 132 4 Wheel Drive Narrow-1971 Massey Ferguson 148

The weather was good for both show days, a pleasant surprise aſter all the rain that fell the Thursday before. Saturday was extremely busy, with Sunday a little calmer and there were many visitors from north, south, east and west. Our Chairman and Vice Chairman were to hand on both days as were area representatives from outside Lincolnshire to support the Lincolnshire reps. It was good to see so many people on the stand throughout the two days.

Three of the Lincolnshire Team are judges and were hard at work during Saturday morning. The results of their work are as follows: Best Ferguson Implement - Ferguson Kale Cutter-Martin Winter Best Grey Ferguson – Steven Dunn Best Massey Ferguson 135 – Tom French Jnr Best Ferguson Continental – Christopher Rainthorpe

Show Organisers reported the highest number of entries for many years, but some exhibitors were unable to attend due to the weather.

he Lincolnshire Team reported for duty bright and early on Friday 8th November and Peter Aston was there with the merchandise before the gates officially opened!

Visitor attendance was the highest since 2014 and up 6% on 2018. We already have four exhibitors for 2020 and need two more; if you would like to put your name forward please email j.jeffries2@sky.com or get in touch with one of the Lincolnshire Area Representative. You must be a paid up member of the Club to be accepted.

The date for The Newark Vintage T is, 7th and 8th November 2020.
