Owners Looking to Purchase The QROOI has received multiple
inquiries from owners looking to pur- chase Ontario Bred or Sired yearlings and race horses. If you have anything for sale please send us the details so that we can share that information.

New Horse Purchase Program We intend to purchase several
horses to make them available to our owners and trainers as part of a lease/purchase program. We will find them, inspect them via x-ray, gather im- port documents and import them into Canada. Once here we will distribute to interested parties on a first come first
served basis. We are prepared to import as many horses as are needed to ensure that our population increases in 2020. If you might be interested in one
of these horses please contact the QROOI and get your information on the list.
If you have already put your name
in at the QROOI, we are looking to schedule a meeting in October to final- ize the program with the interested par- ties.
2020 Licence Renewals Starting in March 2020, the
AGCO will no longer be accepting paper forms, cash or cheques for horse racing-related licences and registrations. All AGCO licence renewals and appli- cations must be processed online, with payment by Visa, MasterCard, Interac Online, Visa Debit or MasterCard Debit. This change will affect all
horsepersons including owners, agents, trainers, grooms, hotwalkers, jockeys, drivers, association officials, tradesper- sons, and vets. Prior to your licence renewal date, you will be mailed an access code to set up
your online account. This means it is important you
make sure that the AGCO has your cur- rent mailing address. If you need to up- date your information, call AGCO Customer service during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST) at 416-326-8700 or toll free in Ontario at 1-800-522-2876. The following will also move to
online processing: · Claiming Certificates · Estate/Trust Licences – Stable LicencesThoroughbred and Quarter Horse Lease and Partnership Registrations You can find more information
about the online service, called iAGCO, and payment options on the AGCO web- site at
www.agco.ca/iagco.
AGCO License It is a requirement of the Quarter
Horse Racing Industry Development Program (QHRIDP) that an ownership entity enrolling a horse in the Program or otherwise receiving benefits from the Program must be licensed by the Alco- hol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
(AGCO). Formerly, all licenses expired in
March of each racing year, resulting in delays in obtaining license renewals. As a result, QHRIDP participants were granted an extension with respect to this requirement. Recently the AGCO changed its
policy such that individual Quarter Horse licences now expire on the li- censee’s birth date. Licenses can be re- newed at any time through the AGCO Head Office Accordingly, going forward, the
QHRIDP will require that any owner- ship entity enrolling horses in the Pro- gram be licensed as at the date of enrollment. Horses will not be enrolled until the owner holds a current AGCO license.

Roger Huston joins
TheStable.ca Christmas Open House
GUELPH, ON — The 64 year- lings at
TheStable.ca will receive a world-class race call months before they even make their first pari-mutuel start. Hall Of Fame race an-
nouncer Roger Huston is the spe- cial guest of
TheStable.ca’s Christmas Open House on De- cember 15. The Voice will join the commentary team for the livestream broadcast of the event which features yearlings from the fractional ownership stable train- ing in sets. The broadcast kicks off at
10:00 a.m. EST. Viewers can watch and chat online at
www.thestable.ca. Huston, 77, recently re-
signed his position as the an- nouncer and TV host at The Meadows Racetrack where he was the voice of racing since 1976. Prior to joining The Mead- ows team, he worked at Ohio fairs, Lebanon Raceway, the Red Mile, Pompano Park, and the Delaware, Ohio, County Fair, where he began calling the Little Brown Jug in 1968. He has called more than
188,000 races covering 145 tracks in 20 states and eight coun- tries.
He is now working as Brand
Ambassador for the Ohio Har- ness Horsemen’s Association and will continue to work some county fairs in Ohio, The Vincent Delaney Memorial in Dublin, Ire-
land and The Little Brown Jug. “I’m looking forward to an-
nouncing for
TheStable.ca at Tomiko Training Centre, as this will be my 146th venue to call races,” said Huston. “Trips to Canada give me the opportunity to meet some of the greatest fans of our sport.” Earlier this year, Huston re-
leased The Voice: The Unparal- leled Life Of Roger Huston. Written by Victoria M. the book contains
Howard,
colourful stories of Huston’s 60- year career as a race announcer and includes 80 original photos of harness racing’s champion horses and top drivers, revisiting every Little Brown Jug and Adios. Huston will take two breaks
from announcing the yearling sets on the livestream broadcast to greet fans and sign books from 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Books will be available for sale (cash only) at the Open House for $40 CDN (hard cover) and $25 CDN (soft cover). The Open House at Tomiko
Training Centre (210 Campbel- lville Rd., Hamilton) is free to at- tend and all ages are welcome. Guests are invited to drop-in any time from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event is free but an
RSVP is requested. Those who RSVP online are eligible to enter to win prizes, including copies of
Huston’s book, and a 1% share of their favourite horse with free bills for one year (conditions apply). During each Christmas
Open House,
TheStable.ca raises money for a local charity; this year the company is collecting non-perishable food items to do- nate to the Guelph Food Bank. Supporters can also donate funds online directly to the food bank. The Open House will show-
case many of the engaging fea- tures of
TheStable.ca, including its bi-weekly live streaming video broadcasts of the horses in training. Visitors can explore the barns and meet
TheStable.ca’s 138 horses on their own or regis- ter for a guided tour. A catalogue will be emailed
to all RSVP guests and made available on The
Stable.ca web- site on December 13, detailing all horses for which fractions are available for purchase. The cata- logue will include a schedule of when each horse will be show- cased on the broadcast during the Open House. Onsite purchasing will be
available for shares of horses and payment can be made with credit card, PayPal, cash, cheque and e- transfer. The facility offers a heated
viewing area with limited seating. Hot and cold drinks will be avail- able and lunch is also available to purchase from Hotdiggitydog.
Santa will arrive via a trot-
ter-drawn race bike at 11:30 a.m. for a free 90-minute photo ses- sion with youngsters.
About
TheStable.ca TheStable.ca is horse rac-
ing’s fastest growing fractional ownership operation and the largest harness racing stable in Canada. During the racing season,
there are approximately 150 Standardbred horses racing in eight jurisdictions throughout North America. The horses are owned by 700+ people from 12 countries worldwide. The innovative and engag-
ing model invites people to own a little and love it a lot. Clients can purchase as little as one per- cent of a horse, making the thrill of harness racing and racehorse ownership accessible and afford- able.
This award-winning frac-
tional racehorse ownership oper- ation was crafted in 2015 by Anthony and Amy MacDonald of Guelph, ON to remove the tradi- tional barriers to racehorse own- ership: cost, access and risk. Communication and customer service are the cornerstones of
TheStable.ca. The operation em- braces technological solutions to engage audiences, deliver consis- tent updates about the horses and create an ongoing entertainment experience.
