The 2020 AQHA leveling
program point ranges are now available online, and exhibitors and horse owners can begin to determine their eligibility for the 2020 show season. Point ranges identify the
levels that exhibitors and horses are eligible for when competing at AQHA shows. Owners and ex- hibitors can view the 2020 point ranges and compare their show record for an approximation of the levels they will be eligible for in the 2020 show season. The on- line level verification system, al- lows exhibitors and horse owners to look up their class-by-class level eligibility. Points are tabulated from
November 1 through October 31 in accordance with SHW250 so that level eligibility will be avail- able for shows starting in Janu- ary.
Level eligibility is effec-
tive January 1 of each year, and exhibitors and horses maintain eligibility through December 31,
regardless of the number of points earned during the year. AQHA points earned are
not the only factor taken into consideration when determining level eligibility; awards won are also taken into account, including alliance partner points and earn- ings. Money won in other equine organizations or associations also affects eligibility. It is the respon- sibility of the exhibitor to update their Level 1 eligibility annually. Visit
www.aqha.com/level-
ing to learn more about how level eligibility is determined and for more insight on AQHA levels, which range from Rookie for be- ginning competitors to Level 1 for the minimally accomplished, Level 2 for the moderately ac- complished and Level 3 for the highly accomplished.

The current rule, which only allows lip cords in halter classes for stallions age 1 and older, is still in effect through De- cember 31, 2019. Beginning Jan- uary 1, 2020, both safety leads and lip cords may be used in des- ignated halter classes. The revised rule, effective

Potential Relocation to Fort Worth In February, it was an-
nounced that a group of external stakeholders is raising funds for a possible relocation of the American Quarter Horse Associ- ation to Fort Worth, Texas. The Fort Worth City Council ap- proved a 50-year ground lease for the American Quarter Horse Foundation. This action by the Fort Worth City Council does not mean AQHA has made a defini- tive commitment to relocate. This is only a step in the process of the possibility of a move. There is no timeline for construction or relo- cation, as relocation is not guar- anteed at this point. It’s important to understand that a move is not imminent and there is no plan for future staffing changes. AQHA greatly appreciates the Amarillo employees, who are focused on providing quality service to AQHA members around the world. AQHA plans to keep the board of directors, members and the Asso- ciation’s employees up- dated each step of the way as this possible re- location continues to develop. In closing, I would like
to thank the OQHA Board of Directors for their hard work and dedication to our affili- ate. Congratulations all the AQHA/OQHA 2019 Award winners and best wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and a successful 2020! Remember to visit the

tance, please contact me at: Ph: (519) 345-2861 or by e-mail at:
