Updates to SJIB national wage rates

launched Changes to the SJIB national wage rates and the allowances for operatives, apprentices and adult trainees come into effect on 6 January. Updates have been made to


the lodging allowance and retention fees as well as the holiday entitlement, which rises from 31 to 32 days.

Employment rules guide to explain rights


Members are set to receive advice and guidance about new employment rules that come into force next year. Starting from 6 April 2020, all employees and workers will have a right to a more extensive Statement of Particulars, a legally binding agreement that sets out the terms and conditions of their employment. SELECT and the SJIB will be


issuing a circular describing these new requirements and what action you should take in the New Year. Further details will also be featured in the next issue of CABLEtalk.
