Charter Agreement
CWind’s long-term charter contract agreement with Ørsted, which operates the Borssele 1 and 2 offshore windfarms, will start in mid-2020. The agreement will cover an initial three-year firm charter with options available for a further two years.
The new CWind Hybrid SES will enable Ørsted to not only deliver and service windfarms efficiently through reduced transit times, but support Ørsted’s green energy ambition. The Hybrid SES crew transfer vessel will operate from the Dutch port of Vlissingen to Borssele 1 and 2, located 23km from the Dutch coast in the North Sea.

WSC has focused on designing and building lighter weight fast ferries with the subsequent benefit of lower fuel burn – with previous builds including Red Funnel’s Redjet 6 and 7, three vessels for MBNA Thames Clippers and the first two passenger ferries built outside of the United States for Mexican operator Ultramar.

News Update from Neptune Inspection
The past 18 months have been a busy time for Neptune Inspection Limited. The UTM Survey company which started trading from Jarrow in 2017 opened a new office in Hexham earlier this year. Steven Winder Managing Director of Neptune Inspection explains “Although an unusual choice of location our current base allows us to easily access, our clients on the Tyne, Tees and Scotland.”
In July, Neptune Inspection were awarded a further approval by Class NK which now takes the total to 4 and makes Neptune the second company in the UK to have achieved this.

The company has taken on its first UTM Trainee Surveyor. “We are delighted that Angus Oliver has agreed to join Neptune as our first trainee. This shows our commitment to developing our team, its very positive and Angus has brought with him some fresh ideas for other services which can be offered to our clients.”
