CONTENTS/INTRODUCTION/TEAM BELTING, BLOCKS AND TREE TIES

Rubber Tree Blocking

Our standard double rounded rubber tree blocks are slotted and are ideal for use with rounded tree stakes. The blocks provide a cushion between the tree and the stakes to prevent chaffing and the slotted corners help to prevent premature splitting.

Tree Belting

PVC – is very long-lasting and un-reinforced versions have the ability to stretch as trees grow. PVC is quite strong with a typical 25 mm wide belt having a breaking strain of 70 kg, however it can harden and become brittle in very cold weather.

Rubberloc Reinforced Rubber – is stronger than PVC with a breaking strain of 110 kg at 24 mm wide. Rubber provides a kinder surface against tree bark and the right compound can provide a useful life in excess of 8 years and remain flexible down to -25o

adjustments will need to be made as the tree grows.

Rubberloc Stretch Rubber – is more suited to small trees up to 3 cm in diameter or 10 cm girth. It does not have the same load capacity as reinforced belting but its big advantage is it allows the tree to expand without adjustment.

Naturetie - is a biodegradable tree tie. Unlike other materials, the Naturetie does not require a separate spacer between the tree and the stake; the spacer can be formed by the tie material itself.

Tree Ties C. Reinforced rubber will not stretch so

Our Rubberloc buckle tree ties are quick to apply and make slackening much easier without damage to the tie or tree. Manufactured from the same quality fabric as our reinforced rubber belting they come complete with a spacer collar and nylon buckles which are secured in place with brass rivets. Supersoft tree ties are made from a very soft rubber-type plastic with moulded grooves on the inside face to help grip, helping to prevent damage to bark. The use of a block or spacer is not required as the tie itself acts like a cushion between the tree and the stake.
