Seeing Father Christmas is a magical experience wherever it takes place. However, we are lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of the country where historic buildings, open spaces and natural wonders can provide a stunning backdrop to that experience of seeing Father Christmas. Here is our top selection of places but if you have some other favourites, do let us know.


Father Christmas in his Workshop Bocketts Farm 23-24, 30 November and 24 December Children will hop aboard the Santa express and travel in style to the magical workshop, where you’ll gather as a group for some festive elf fun. Special activities across the farm – including crafts, giant snowglobe and making reindeer food. Santa’s Christmas Wonderland Chessington Garden Centre 23 November to 24 December Start in the craft workshop and journey through the grotto to see Santa. Tickets: Child off peak £14.50/ peak £16.50. Father Christmas in the Stableyard Morden Hall Park 23-24, 30 November; 1, 7-8 and 14-15 December Children can draw and send their wish lists to Father Christmas via the special postcard express, and in a cosy enchanted grotto they will meet Father Christmas and his elves to receive a special gift. Santa Special Express Bluebell Railway 30 November; 1, 7-8, 14- 15 and 21-24 December Santa and his elves will be on board with presents and a chocolate treat for children. Father Christmas at the Farm Crockford Bridge Farm 1-2, 7-8, 15-16 and 19- 23 December After a walking theatre performance in the woods, you will meet Father Christmas in his log cabin. www.crockfordbridge farm.co.uk


Father Christmas at the Hall Royal Albert Hall 5-22 December In this theatrical walk-around event, children will encounter a range of magical North Pole characters in various spaces of the Hall on their way to meet Father Christmas himself. Suitable for ages 3+. www.royalalberthall.com

Father Christmas in the Parlor Ham House 7-8 and 14-23 December Father Christmas has taken up residence in the historic back parlor where twinkling lights, rich decoration and the smells of trees make for an authentic experience away from the commercial bustle of Christmas.
