Apprenticeships Apprenticeships demonstrate and promote the benefits that work- based learning brings to businesses, individuals and the Scottish economy. These continue to expand in line

with the Scottish Government’s Youth Employment Strategy ambition to reach 30,000 apprenticeship starts annually by 2020. With greater opportunity for

taking up apprenticeships, there is also scope to enable individuals to move from education to employment more quickly. This saves public money, raises tax receipts and saves individuals’ time in education and training.

There are several different types

of apprenticeships: Foundation Apprenticeships give

you early access to future talent for your workforce by providing school pupils with valuable experience of the world of work, helping them gain a qualification and get a head start in their career. Modern Apprenticeships allow

your new or existing employees to work towards an approved qualification whilst in employment. Graduate Apprenticeships allow

your new or existing employees to work towards a degree level qualification while in full-time employment.
