News and views to help you feel your best
If your skin is prone
to spots, try cleansing your face every morning and evening, suggests a study
published in the journal Pediatric Dermatology. In tests, washing just once a day resulted in the
most breakouts, the study found. Ask your local Careway
pharmacist to recommend a mild cleanser suitable for your skin.
New trend keeps
skincare simple Complicated skincare routines involving an array of products may be a thing of the past. A survey by market research company Mintel shows British women are keeping things simple. The survey suggests 28 per cent of
us are using just one product to cleanse our faces, with the number of women using four or more products to cleanse having fallen sharply in 2019. According to Mintel experts, 31 per cent of women who wear make-up are also buying fewer make-up items this year compared to last year. Some skincare products still proving
popular are facial oils and serums, the survey found. Not sure which skincare
products would suit you best? Ask your local Careway pharmacist to recommend products for your skin type.

Perfecting the eyeliner flick
We all know how tricky achieving the perfect cat-eye is. Try this simple trick to achieve the perfect cat-eye with your eyeliner:
• Start by drawing a dot next to the outside of each eye where you want the flick to end (make sure the dots
line up with each other or the flick on one side will be higher than the other).
• Next draw a line from the outside corner of your lashes to the dot.
• Apply a thin line of eyeliner across the top of the eyelid,
drawing upwards to the dot just before you reach the outside corner of the eye.
• Fill in any gap the two lines joining the dot have formed, and repeat on the other eye.

Home manicure know-how
If you don’t have the time or the money to have regular manicures at a nail salon, the good news is home manicures can produce great-looking nails. Try these tips to make your home manicure even more successful:
1. Go for a rounded shape if you want to avoid breaks and snagging.
2.Always try to apply two thin coats of nail polish instead of one thick coat – they look better and they last longer.
3.Apply nail polish in three strokes – first the middle, then the sides.
4.Keep your manicure looking great for longer by wearing gloves while washing up and use a cuticle oil daily to keep nails healthy.
