MissKent is aiming to inspire girls and boys
THEwinner ofMissKentGBhas sentheartfelt thanks toher family for supporting her through her darkest times…and her moment of glory. Zoe Hetherington (21) admits
she “burst into tears” when she was given the title in Gravesend on August 30, as it took her so long to be confident in herself after being bullied at school. The LenhamRoad resident now
plans to collaborate with local business and schools to bring to light the importance of mental health and education. Zoe said: “In the UK, I feel we
take for granted the education systemand Iwant to inspire chil- dren to bemore businessminded and encourage both men and women. I do thinkmen have been left behind a little bit. “We still have a long way to go
aswomen, but I believe everyone should empower each other as one.”
Miss Kent GB, Zoe Hetherington, is hoping to inspire boys and girls to empower each other, and wants to highlight mental health
The former Cornwallis Acad-
emy pupil says her mum Nicola (52) and dad Dave (57) have been there for her during her worst and best days. Zoe said: “You could pick a
1,000 things you don’t like about yourself and everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side. I wanted to prove that you can’t just change who you are and to
love your own skin. “If you’ve got a spot on your
face, there’s nothing you can do about it. You just have to keep pushing forward.” Zoe, a L’Oréal Parismarketer in
Hammersmith, plans on attend- ing theMissGreat Britain pageant in February 2020 and intends to be a judge at the next Miss Kent contest.
