3pm, there were a range of free activities available for all ages to enjoy including a climbing wall, inflatable football pitch provided by Sentinel Leisure Trust, multi- sports activities delivered by Suffolk Positive Futures Catch22, skateboarding from ABC Skateboarding, boxing with Ultimate Boxing, circus skills provided by Thirst Youth Café and arts and crafts activities with St Luke’s Church.

Information was also available on local services, including housing advice from the Council’s housing officers, safety advice from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service and Suffolk Police and health and wellbeing support from various projects running in the local community. Local singer Jack Ollett also performed throughout the day. A raffle was held with prizes kindly donated by local businesses, with proceeds going towards supporting the local community in the future. Cllr Letitia Smith, East

Suffolk’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Leisure and Tourism said: “It was wonderful to see these activities so well attended and we have received lots of positive comments praising the event. It would not have been possible without the support of local organisations and businesses who kindly gave their time to ensure this event was a success.” At the event, a consultation was held to identify local

issues and concerns, as well as talking about the many positive things offered in the local area. Residents were able to share their views on how to make positive changes in the future. The East Suffolk Communities Team will now work with residents and local services to address this feedback. Beccles Town and East

Suffolk ward councillors Caroline Topping and Elfrede Bramley-Crawshaw were present at the event, along with Beccles Mayor Andrea Downes. For more information about

Anna Bonner, Committee member Bungay & Beccles Cadets

BUNGAY and Beccles cadets of Suffolk Army Cadet Force recently spent two days assisting at The Waveney Harriers Pony Club Charity horse show event and helped the organisers raise a whopping £4311 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance and DEBRA charities. Although some aspects of the days were physically demanding the cadets thoroughly enjoyed helping the community. The cadets are now recently back from an action packed 10 days at annual camp, which this year was spent at Chickerell Barracks in Hampshire and saw the cadets take part in simulated battle activities, 2-3 days of in the field training, Adventure Training and cultural visits

to various military themed attractions. One of the greatest moments at camp was B Company (our company) winning Champion Company of Suffolk ACF for the second year running. This was partly due to the increasing numbers of cadets at all our detachments. Bungay now has 18 cadets (boys and girls) parading regularly which is the strongest it has been in years, and we hope that the increase continues and hopefully shows a switch from 'console entertainment' back to real life fun. As camp is over the detachment is now open again on every Thursday evening. 7pm-9.30pm at Bungay Community centre. If you fancy popping down to see what we do, just turn up.
