GLOUCESTERSHIRE, Bristol, issuer uncertain, Bristol and South Wales, Proof Penny, 1811, City arms within garter, crest above, tops of 1s in date slope, 6 stays at right of main-mast, rev. Prince of Wales’ feathers, broken B in BRISTOL, edge centre-grained right, 18.22g/12h (W – [dies of 522a]). Very light spotting, otherwise virtually as struck with much original colour, brilliant fields and sharp rims, extremely rare; by far the finest Bristol and South Wales Penny seen by the cataloguer
