POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Human Resources (HR) is a member of the President’s Senior Leadership Team and has the responsibility for leading the development and implementation of policies, practices and comprehensive human resource strategies aligned for faculty and staff. As the chief HR leader for the campus, the Director continually improves human resources systems and ensures the delivery of high-quality services to the faculty and staff of the University in a manner consistent with the strategic plan, vision, mission, and values of the University.
The Director is the President’s principal advisor in regard to human resources policy and is the primary guide and support in regard to human resources matters for the University’s vice presidents and deans. The Director serves as the University’s chief negotiator for its local labor contract and the primary representative of the University in developing and maintaining productive relationships with the leadership of the bargaining unit which represents University employees. The Director is responsible for providing effective employment-related services to a large and diverse workforce and for overseeing the management of the human resources information technology database systems, including the administration of personnel files and other data retention and reporting requirements for faculty and staff. Cameron Impact Scholarship Award Amount: $50,000
The Bryan Cameron Education Foundation (“Foundation”) awards four-year, full-tuition, merit-based undergraduate scholarships to exceptional high school students who have demonstrated excellence in academics, extracurricular activi- ties, leadership, and community service. The Cameron Impact Scholar is unique among their high-achieving peers in their desire to make an impact on their com- munities and in the world at large. Our Scholar aspires to contribute to positive forces for change and plans to tailor their educa- tion to that end.
The Foundation will allocate approximately 25%, or a quarter of the scholarships to individ- uals pursuing careers in education, nonprofits, government, and/or military and have a stated professional goal of public service. However, the criterion for the Scholarship is intentional- ly broad. There are countless ways to make a positive impact in many professional careers (Finance, Education, Healthcare, Technology, Military, Legal, Sports, Engineering and Art to name but a few). In either the Private or Pub- lic Sector, the Cameron Impact Scholar has the ability to make real, tangible contributions in their lifelong dedication to the greater good.
Eligibility for the Cameron Impact Scholarship is based on the following criteria: The applicant must:
- Prioritize academic excellence (maintaining a minimum cumulative unweight- ed 3.7 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent in their high school studies);
- Be a citizen of the United States of America;
- Be in the high school graduating Class of 2020, planning to enroll in a full-time course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year U.S. col- lege or university for the full academic year following high school graduation;
- Excel in a broad variety of extracurricular activities. This includes, but is not limited to: athletics, academic clubs, music lessons, performance art, and philan- thropic organizations;
- Be motivated leaders with a strong work ethic and social acumen. Scholars rise to the occasion and are both candid and confident;
- Demonstrate active participation in community service and in civic-minded arenas, exhibiting an appreciation for the world outside themselves and a belief in their own ca- pacity to effect change on scales both large and small;
- And submit by the Application Deadline*: - Online Application,
- Two (2) required Letters of Recommenda- tion** (these letters MUST be submitted prior to the Application Deadline for an Application to be considered complete), and
- Transcript (unofficial is fine) certifying aca- demic performance.
*IMPORTANT: Applicants are strongly advised
to submit their application well in advance of the final deadline. The Foundation assumes no responsibility for an applicant’s technical submission issues encoun- tered on the final due date.
