A WATER company was prepar- ing to produce up to an extra 100 million litres of drinking water a day as temperatures rose again. South East Water was working
across Kent to produce the extra water, the equivalent of 1.25 mil- lion flushes of the toilet. The amount of water available
in reservoirs and groundwater stores is considered good for this time of year, but as the hot sum- mer continues demand for water rises. Lee Dance, head of water re-
sources for South EastWater said: “Being water savvy in the sun- shine helps ease pressure on the company’s extensive network.”
