MESSAGE FROM THE CEO Take Advantage of ASCA Resources A

s the year wraps up and you are busy tying up loose ends, I want to remind you of two important tools from ASCA that could help your

outcomes next year. The first is ASCA’s 2020 Winter Seminar that is slated to take place Janu- ary 16–18 at the Intercontinental Hotel in New Orleans. There will be three tracks again next year, highlighting different areas in ASCs: ASC Manage- ment, Coding & Reimbursement, and Finance & Accounting. On Saturday, January 18, the ASC Management track will include a half day of infection prevention sessions; and the Finance & Accounting track will include a half day of materials management sessions. Best rates end September 30 and ASCA members can take advantage of the lowest registration fees available. ASCA facility members that send more than one employee can enjoy addi- tional savings. New Orleans is a beautiful venue and the hotel is just far enough from Bourbon Street for those who don’t want to visit but close enough for those who do. at your ASC lower, higher or on par with those offered by similar facilities? How do your compensation packages compare to your competitors’? Should you be earning more or receiving better benefits? Find out by accessing ASCA’s 2019 Salary & Benefits Survey report. The survey, which was open to all ASCs and conducted between May 1 and May 31, collected national, regional and state data on more than 20 ASC positions. ASCs can use this data to compare their compensation packages to those offered by similar facilities. They also can use the survey’s person- alized reporting features to benchmark their information against facilities from the same region, with a similar number of employees, of the same spe- cialty, with a similar number of patient encounters and more. The survey, conducted every other year, features several updates this year, including new questions about the infection preventionist position and data entry progress icons that make it easier to measure progress within each section. ASCs that completed 40 percent or more of this year’s survey received per- sonalized results for free. Results also are available for purchase for ASCs that did not participate.
