Paint Classes Offered for Homeschoolers

Wellness Center (New Life) will begin offer- ing paint classes for tweens (ages 10-12 years) and teens (ages 13-17). New Life owner, Wilhelmina McKittrick, has been exploring and improving her painting skills for almost 30 years. Her love of art is visible throughout the center, which she founded this past March. McKittrick explains that during
these classes, students will explore and improve their acrylic painting skills on canvas. “We offer a warm, supportive and fun atmosphere for all of our students.” For students who may be overwhelmed by the blank canvas, McKittrick said sten- cils are available. Painting classes are for tween stu-
dents will be held on Mondays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., beginning August 5. Te teen classes are scheduled on Wednes- days and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., starting September 4. In addition, McKittrick will fa-
cilitate Mindfulness Paint Classes on Wednesday and Friday morning for teen students. Tis two-hour class begins with a guided meditation at 10 a.m., fol- lowed by paint class. “We are an official Epic Charter
School vendor,” said McKittrick. McKittrick said that during each
class, students will create one new painting each time. They have the option to create their own, they can copy the example. Topics vary each month. September’s topic will be Abstracts, October will be Nature Scenes, and November will be Galaxy (closed in December).
