Thank goodness for great events to distract us from the dismal British weather in what is supposed to be our warmer months! From St Tropez with Jaguar and the gorgeous David Gandy (yes he looks as good in the flesh, yes I was the envy of my friends and yes I snagged a photo with him before we all partied way too hard into the early hours) to our very own Ladies Day in partnership with Dallas Burston Polo Club that turned out to yet again be a first class day despite the torrential rain! Even the Hay Festival goers withstood the downpour, which thankfully dried up ahead of the GQ party, which was an exquisite party by the way! I came to realise that us British make the best of everything, even when the odds or weather are against us...

For this issue I chatted to the gorgeous Charlotte Hawkins, who makes mere mortals like me feel terribly inadequate first thing in the morning. Quite hard to believe she used to be a tomboy! We chatted about fashion, Piers Morgan, her love of classical music and how meditation helps with the lack of sleep and early (very early) mornings – quite a breadth of topics really! She's been described as being as 'wholesome as the girl next door' and when talking to her you do get the feeling of having known her all your life, as she has a way of making you feel instantly at ease.
