Libraries across Berkshire are getting ready for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge which takes place in space, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.
The Rockets are a futuristic family living in space, and they are hot on the trail of a mischievous band of aliens! The aliens have been jumping from galaxy to galaxy, helping themselves to whatever they like. Now books have mysteriously started to vanish from the Moon Library and the Rockets are on the case.
With lots of help from children taking part in the Challenge, the Rockets will go on a mission to try and find the missing books and introduce the aliens to the wonders of the library, where they can share stories together. There’s plenty of peril along the way, from black holes and shooting stars to the murky depths of the alien ship. Children can help by reading 6 books over the summer, Let the Space Chase begin!
Space Chase, Summer Reading Challenge launches in libraries across Berkshire on Saturday July 13 and runs until September 2019.
