1 – We reserve the right to exclude or amend an adver tisement considered
unsuitable for publication in order to maintain our standards. 2 – In the event of omission or printing error, the publisher will make an
adjustment to the cost/size of a future advertisement. No adjustment will apply where the error, misprint or omission does not materially detract from the advertisement. Under no circumstances will the total liability of the publisher for any error, misprint or omission exceed the amount of the cost of the original advertisement. 3 – Advertisements not conforming to the Trade Descriptions Act 1968, the
Consumer Credit Act 1974, The Sex Discrimination Act 1975, The Business Advertisements (Disclosure) Order 1977 and other rel evant legislation will be refused. 4 – We must be notified of errors in advertisements within one week of insertion. 5 – Community News, nor the publishers can be held responsible for the loss of
artwork and photographs supplied. 6 – The quality of reproduction of copy for publication is dependent upon the
quality of the original supplied. 7 – Where a proof has been supplied and agreed prior to publication, no credit
will be given in respect of errors. 8 – It is the responsibility of the advertiser to check the first insertion of each
advertisement and to notify the company immediately of any errors. The company assumes no responsibility for the repetition of errors unless so notified by the advertisers. 9 – Editorial supplied to us does not necessarily reflect the views of Community
News or the publishers. 10 – We do not accept liability for any loss or damage incurred by advertisers
allegedly arising in respect of loss, damage or non receipt of advertisement replies, save where such loss or damage has arisen directly as a result of our negligence. 11 – We do not accept liability for any loss or damage incurred by readers in response to any advertisements.
A plan to repair, restore and enhance The Cut, Halesworth
THE Cut has now been a home for the arts in Halesworth for almost 20 years. Two decades of providing the local community with a centre for live performance, music, film, dance, classes, or simply a place to have a chat and a coffee. With all those comings and goings it's no wonder the building is showing its age. In 2019 we are aiming to raise £100,000 to pay for repairs and improvements so we can continue to provide Halesworth with the
best
possible venue for 2020 and beyond. You are invited to the '2020 Vision' Launch Party on Friday 5th July. Come and join us for a special evening at The Cut. Drinks, snacks, information and ideas, a film of how we started and how far we have come, with live music. Doors open at 7pm. Formal launch at 7.40pm.

U3A Open Day: your chance to find out more
EAST Suffolk U3A group takes a break over the summer, but comes back with a sparkling new programme of events in September.
The Open Day on Friday 6th September from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Kesgrave Community
Centre gives
members and potential members the chance to see what is on offer for the coming year. U3A is aimed at older people who want to get as much as possible out of life. There are no entry qualifications and no barriers to joining. All U3A asks is that you come along with an open
mind, be prepared to join in and contribute to one or more of the many activities on offer. The range of activities is huge, with everything from walking to knitting, astronomy to Spanish, Scrabble to Shakespeare. Starting again in the middle of September, U3A has lined up a variety of speakers, presenting topics on a wide range of topics including the perennial favourites of history, science, travels and art.

As always there will
be ample free parking close by. The fete this year promises to be even better than normal with all the tried and tested great favourites by way of the much-loved
children’s
entertainment, games, and much more. The raffle, tombola and other stalls will also be there to tempt your luck as well as brass band, music, a licensed bar, refreshments and a barbecue. Static exhibitions will include vintage vehicles and tractors, model railways and boats, plus much more.
A car-boot sale will also be present and vehicle entry is only £5, payable on the day. Everyone is made to feel very welcome at the Fete and we look forward to greeting first time visitors and meeting our old friends again, many who have been coming for a considerable number of years. Suffolk Cadets SUFFOLK Cadets in
Remembrance of Normandy D-Day Landings, 75 years on 55 Army Cadets and adult instructors from Suffolk Army Cadet Force, accompanied by serving soldier from Woodbridge Royal Engineers acting as outlet Battlefield Tour Guide, travelled to Normandy, France to celebrate and commemorate the D-Day beach landings 75 years after it happened.
The Normandy D-Day beach invasion was the world’s largest invasion in history and helped secure the victory for the allies during the Second World War. Suffolk Cadets were a contributor to the 2000 Army Cadets and Adult Instructors who have taken part in the nationally organised trip over the last seven days.
Amongst their presence, the cadets had guided tours in the landing beaches, the American objectives including Omaha beach and Point de Hoc, before proceeding to cover the British and Allies events at the infamous Pegasus Bridge, Gold Beach,
and Bayeux Cemetery.

event finished with a drum head service, overlooking the town of Arromanche, which homes the Mulberry B Harbour. Cadets
spent time this memory alive’.
The initiative was supported and controlled by Wiltshire ACF and all Army cadet units were invited to attend. Along with experience cadets could see the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) and how it was applied during the Second World War. Commandant Suffolk Army Cadet Force, Colonel Smith said:
